If most guests will stay at the wedding resort, Lara and Belek create two different destination-wedding experiences. Lara puts the group much closer to Antalya Airport and the city side of the resort coast. Belek usually asks guests to travel farther after landing, but rewards that extra transfer with a more self-contained resort environment where golf, beaches, large grounds and extensive event facilities can become part of the wedding stay.

A resort can truthfully say that it has rooms on 12 June while the wedding space you wanted is already committed. For international guests, the first practical difference appears before anyone sees the venue.

If guests arrive throughout Friday for a Saturday wedding, a shorter transfer can make the arrival day easier. The same applies to families with young children, older relatives, guests carrying formal clothes and luggage, and people leaving on early flights after the celebration.

For a group staying only two or three nights, the transfer can represent a meaningful part of the total trip. Saving time on both arrival and departure may be more valuable than adding another resort facility that guests will barely use.

Lara can also make sense when not every guest follows the same programme. Some may want to visit central Antalya, shop, meet local family or extend the stay independently. A resort location closer to the city side of Antalya gives that group more flexibility.

Belek's Strongest Argument: The Resort Can Become the Destination

Belek becomes more persuasive when the wedding trip is designed around the resort rather than around Antalya city.

Current official resort information shows the scale of Belek's event infrastructure. Regnum Carya markets weddings across outdoor summer venues and indoor ballrooms, while its convention centre includes large divisible spaces and extensive event support. Xanadu Resort also publishes a substantial conference and event inventory and states that the property is around 38 minutes from Antalya Airport.

For a 60-100 guest wedding, you do not need the biggest ballroom in Belek. The value is the range of alternatives a large resort can potentially provide: beach, lawn, garden, restaurant, ballroom, indoor backup and separate spaces for welcome or after-party events.

That can work particularly well when guests are staying three, four or five nights and expect the resort to provide most of the holiday experience. Once everyone is checked in, daily transport can become less important because the pool, beach, restaurants, children's facilities and wedding spaces are all within the same property.

The trade-off is that you are asking guests to travel farther from the airport at the beginning and end of the trip. For a long weekend, that matters more than it does for a five-night resort stay.

For 60-100 Guests, Bigger Is Not Automatically Better

A common mistake is to choose the resort with the largest ballroom, the longest list of restaurants or the biggest total room count.

Your wedding is not the resort's total capacity. It is the specific part of the resort you will actually occupy.

Those conditions are attractive for outdoor celebrations, but the daytime heat should influence the event schedule. An outdoor ceremony planned too early can expose guests to strong sun even when the evening becomes comfortable later.

For a June wedding, compare Lara and Belek resorts on practical heat management as well as scenery:

• When does the ceremony space lose direct sun?
• Is there shade while guests wait for the ceremony to begin?
• How far do guests walk from rooms to the event area?
• Where are welcome drinks served?
• Is there an air-conditioned indoor space nearby if a guest needs a break?
• Can dinner begin later without creating a problem with music or venue finishing times?

Rain is less frequent in June than in spring, but a credible backup still matters. A destination wedding contract should identify what happens if the outdoor plan cannot be used.

If Most Guests Stay at the Resort, Rooms Should Be Negotiated With the Wedding

For 60-100 guests, the room requirement may be substantial even when not everyone stays in the same property. A group made up mainly of couples might need roughly 25-50 rooms; families, children, single occupancy and guests staying elsewhere can change that quickly.

The room arrangement can change which area makes more sense.

In Lara, a shorter airport transfer can help when guests arrive and depart on many different flights or stay for different lengths of time. In Belek, a larger resort stay can be more attractive when most guests arrive for a similar three- to five-night period and intend to remain together.

Before paying the event deposit, ask the hotel to put the room structure in writing:

• number of rooms and room categories the hotel can hold;
• minimum-stay requirements, if any;
• group rate and whether it is fixed;
• booking deadline and room-release date;
• whether the couple is liable for rooms that guests do not use;
• child, extra-bed and single-occupancy rules;
• whether outside guests can enter the resort for the wedding and whether a fee applies.

Do not sign a wedding contract assuming the accommodation will be easy to solve later. For a resort-centred wedding, the rooms are part of the product.

Do Not Assume Lara Is Cheaper or Belek Is More Expensive

Area labels are a poor way to estimate a wedding budget.

A premium Lara resort can cost more than a Belek option, and a luxury Belek resort can cost far more than another hotel in the same district. The final commercial structure can also change through minimum food and beverage spend, guest-room commitments, outside-supplier fees, event-space charges, extra hours and compulsory services.

For June 2027, the best comparison is to send the same brief to one or two serious Lara resorts and one or two serious Belek resorts, then compare the complete written proposals.

If one proposal includes rooms, event space and key services while another has a lower headline price but adds several compulsory costs later, the cheaper first number may not be the cheaper wedding.

It can, but only where the contract says it can.

For a multi-day programme, the extra airport transfer may be a smaller issue because it happens only at the beginning and end of a longer resort stay.

The caution is privacy. Large resorts can host many guests and events at the same time. Ask exactly which areas are exclusive to the wedding and whether other hotel events can operate next to them.
